Constitution Paper

Q US History I Constitution Paper Assignment Students will write one 800-1000 word paper, not more, not less, on the concept of separation of powers as presented in the US Constitution only. What are the powers held by the three branches of the government, as described in the first three articles of the Constitution? How does each branch check the others’ power to ensure that one branch does not dominate the government? The final word count must be at the end of the essay. Use Font size 12, times new roman, double spaced. This is an examination and analysis of the source, avoid using material from the lecture, textbook, or outside research since this may cause you to try to prove things that are not in the source. This is an essay, so have an intro, a body, a conclusion. Have a thesis statement, the one main point of your paper, and use the source and your analysis to prove your point, your thesis. The essay must be based on the Constitution only, and you must use examples and quotes from the Constitution to formulate and defend your argument. However, excessive or large quotes are not acceptable. Find only that part of the quote that gets to your point and use that. Quotes are meant to support your own ideas, not be the ideas. Be sure to explain to your reader how your evidence supports your point. Use citations from the source in this format - (Art. II, Sec. 3). No cover page is needed. Put your name on it. The essay is due by November 4 at 11:59 PM. Students must submit a copy on Canvas as a Word attachment. If you turn in the essay in another format, or you cut and paste your essay into the body of the message, you have not followed the assignment instructions. I will ask you to resubmit the essay, and your essay will be considered and graded late. Late essays will receive a substantial grading penalty. There will be no exceptions, unless approved by the instructor beforehand. Plagiarism will not be tolerated; plagiarized papers will receive a zero and the student will receive a failing grade and the offense may be reported to campus authorities. Plagiarism is a direct violation of intellectual and academic honesty. Although it exists in many forms, all plagiarism refers to the same act: representing somebody else’s words or ideas as one’s own. The most extreme forms of plagiarism are those of material authored by another person or obtained from a commercial source, or the use of passages copied word for word without acknowledgement. Paraphrasing an author’s idea or quoting even limited portions of his or her text without proper citation is also an act of plagiarism. Even putting someone else’s ideas into one’s own words without acknowledgement may be plagiarism. Explanations of just what plagiarism is and how to avoid it can be found at

There had been a difficult phase when the constitution of America had been in the process of being made to function. This is because of the issue with concentration of powers in the national government. However, there had been a settlement/agreement reached between the Federalists and the Anti-Federalists about the Bill of Rights being formulated and included in the constitution. The controlling factor of the limitations of centralization of powers to the federal government had been confirmed when there had been articles of the constitution established. There had not been the letting any of the branch of the government dominate/misuse their delegated/allocated powers.
